New mum posts photos showing off Japanese hospital food

A mum who gave birth in Japan has showed off the food she had during her four days in hospital – and it’s epic.

The woman, who goes by the name ‘hadababyinjp’ posted a stream of 12 photos online, alongside the caption: “I had a baby in Japan. Here's some of the food I ate during my stay at the clinic.”

Her photos have since attracted a stream of comments from people who can’t believe that the feast, which looks like it could have been from a fancy Japanese restaurant, is actually from a hospital kitchen.

The woman said that each meal came with a calorie label so she could keep track of what she was eating every day.

She also revealed that she had a natural birth and was breastfeeding so she feels they were “overfeeding” rather than “underfeeding” to give patients the option to choose certain items to eat.

The trays can be seen laden with miso soup, chicken meatballs Salmon with mushroom sauce, soba noodles, braised pumpkin and pork, roast beef and mashed potatoes.
