Aussie mum shares shocking video of baby struggling to breathe

An Australian blogger has shared a shocking video of her nine-month-old baby struggling to breathe just before they called an ambulance and rushed her to hospital.

Sophia Cachia, who runs the popular Young Mummy blog and has over 233,000 followers on Instagram, shared the confronting video of little Florence, explaining that she has breathing difficulties triggered by changes in the weather.

The family were on holiday in a hot and sticky Queensland when the horrifying incident happened.

"Her first trip to the snow saw her suffer terribly, and now a trip to warm QLD results in being rushed in an ambulance at midnight,” Sophie captioned a picture of Florence or “Flossy” sleeping in a cot.

“Petrifying, but as a parent you just have to run on auto-pilot and get through ... for them.

“My baby is home and doing much better today. Mumma is still rattled, but my babies come first."

Just a few days later the “adventure-filled getaway” ended up with the family in hospital with Florence.

Sophie noticed that Florence was struggling to breathe and with her son, Bobby, being asthmatic, she knew all the warning signs to look out for.

“The sucking in under her throat & her ribs means she's working really hard to breathe,” Sophie wrote underneath a video of the adorable tot’s chest heaving in and out.

“We used prior knowledge & listened to our gut and Jaryd took her in just before bed time.

“Lucky, because the poor thing spent the night hooked up to oxygen.

“I only took this video just before they left in case she got to the hospital and was breathing fine, I always prefer to have something to show them upon arrival.”

Thankfully, Florence is now back in her own bed and her mum says she’s doing well after the ordeal.
