Mums go wild for Kmart DIY Christmas wreath hack

Christmas may be one of the most wonderful times of the year, but let’s face it, festive decorations don’t come cheap.

By the time you’ve decorated the tree, covered your house in fairy lights and bought everything you need for Christmas dinner, your pockets are pretty much empty.

But now a group of mums on the Kmart Mums Australia Facebook page have thought of a thrifty and genius way of bringing some cheer to your house on a strict budget – and all you’ll need is a pool noodle, a glue gun and some baubles.

Taking to the Facebook page, mums from all over Australia have revealed pictures of their impressive creations.

Sharing exactly how they do it, the mums told others that they simply bought a pool noodle from Kmart (which usually cost about $3) and wrapped it into a circle shape with a lot of duct tape.

Then they took whatever baubles they had bought in the store and stuck them on separately with a glue gun.

The finished results are pretty spectacular, with some mums taking the idea to the next level and creating epic, ginormous wreaths for their houses.

One mum said it took about 200 baubles to fill the noodle, while others said about 20 or 30.

A Disney-obsessed mum took two pool noodles and cut one in half to make ears for a Mickey Mouse themed wreath.

She then took her glue gun and adorned it with baubles, tinsel and fairy lights.

The general cost of the wreath seemed to be about $40 all up.
