Liam is a Halloween fanatic and in the past he's dressed up as Black Swan, Cleopatra, Medusa and this year, he was Cruella de Vil.

The adorable boy created the Cruella costume himself and pulled it off with amazing effect, however when his dad Will Hutt proudly posted the image to his Facebook page, a commenter had to give his opinion, writing underneath the photo: “I must say completely inappropriate, and I can’t believe a parent would ever do that to their child! Sorry if I offend you or your friends but I think it’s wrong!!!!“

Refusing to accept the criticism of his son's costume, Will replied: “We deal with this type of small minded person on a daily basis. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I will always support and encourage my kids creativity happily and without apology.“

Liam's dad Will Hutt refused to take the criticism lying down.

Speaking to the GailyGrind, Will said a child should not be gender stereotyped and should be allowed to dress as whatever or whoever they want for the festive period.

“The most acceptable costumes for boys seem to usually have something to do with blood, gore, and killers,” he said.

“They find that more acceptable? I say live and let live. He’s 9. More kids should be allowed to explore their interests without fear.”
