Photo of bride breastfeeding at her wedding goes viral

They say a hungry baby waits for no one and this bride can certainly vouch for that saying after her 10-month-old daughter Gemma decided she was hungry during her wedding ceremony.

Christina Torino-Benton turned around and began breastfeeding her daughter right in the middle of the ceremony.

The photo was shared by Facebook group Breastfeeding Mama Talk, and has since gone viral, with over seven thousand people liking the photo and being compelled to share their own breastfeeding experiences.

"I made it work... I had to!" Christina told The Huffington Post about breastfeeding during her wedding ceremony.

"Danny has always been so incredibly supportive on this breastfeeding journey, so he just nodded in agreement.

"The people at my wedding were not surprised with me feeding Gemma mid-ceremony because I'm always feeding her at some point or another in front of them," she said, claiming the priest just carried on with the ceremony.

Christina said no one batted an eyelid when she began breastfeeding however she admits it took her a while to build up the confidence to do it in public.

She said the church was hot, Gemma missed her nap and she was out-of-sorts.

The mother refused to let her hungry baby sit there crying for the whole ceremony so decided to feed her there and then.

"I'm feeling nothing but positive vibes from the public response," Christina said.

"Everyone has been very encouraging and supportive."
