Reddit users reveal the worst thing they’ve seen at a wedding or funeral

One Reddit user poised the question: What is the worst behavior you have seen at a wedding or a funeral?

Naturally, the question opened up a can of worms across the Internet as people began to describe the worst etiquette they’ve witnessed during a ceremony.

CambodianDrywall recalls a horrifying story which took place at his grandmother’s funeral: “Her oldest child (and my least favorite aunt) is a Biblical Christian who believes, among other things, that her Catholic mother is now in hell since she didn't jump through some special hoop to gain access to heaven.

“At the end of the funeral service she invited her pastor up to say a few words. He lamented that my grandmother was now in hell and that the rest of us (about 50 family members) should immediately drop to our knees and accept JC as our personal savior.”

Autoportret revealed: “At my dad's funeral a woman came up and demanded she photographed me smiling while I was being consoled by some of my friends.”

Obviously whipping out your mobile is a big no-no at a funeral but apparently not everyone knows that rule. Evankins simply wrote: “Snapchat selfie with corpse. Dog filter on corpse.”

But potentially the worst story was told by pjokkidudels, who writes: “A toddler s**t in the open casket.”

But it’s not just funerals that can bring out the worst in people.

Unfortunately these Reddit users witnessed some appalling behavior at weddings they attended.

Pics-or-didnt-happen tells his story which involves an overly jealous boyfriend…

“Sister of the groom and her boyfriend got into a physical fight on the dance floor over her dancing with me (the best man, who was taking turns dancing with every woman in the family, from age 6 to 93),” he wrote.

“It's a long story, but they eventually left. One on the charter bus to the hotel, the other in the back of a car with lights.”

Jwagg82 says her own wedding was ruined by a close family member: “Alcoholic aunt showed up drunk and proceeded to yell out random things, such as ‘Don't do it!!’, or make "Wooo!!!" noises throughout my ENTIRE ceremony.

“My wedding video is actually ruined because they couldn't edit her out since it would have cut out the officiant's voices as well as mine and my husband's because she literally could not keep quiet for more thanfive minutes and no-one had the sense to remove her.

“She ended up passing out on a chair during cocktail hour, called me my other's cousin's name and ripped my veil from my head cause she was so drunk and almost fell. Then she had to literally be carried out, unconscious.”

That’s pretty bad. But not as bad as having a guest OD…

Korinakorina_ writes: “The grooms cousin was around 16-17. He was an usher in the wedding, no-one even knew if he would be there because he was in jail. He was always in trouble for different things. Wedding goes completely perfect. We're all enjoying ourselves at the reception until people start running outside.

"The groom is doing cpr on his cousin. He's blue and completely unresponsive laying on the ground. We call 911 and they take him to the hospital. He overdosed on heroin. He ended up coming back to later and being okay, but he shut down the reception 3 hours early and everyone went home.

Gotta love a juicy Reddit thread…
