Netflix's JonBenet doco cites paedophile involvement

The new Netflix doco about JonBenét Ramsey is making some pretty shocking claims about who murdered the child pageant star.

Casting JonBenét, which is due to premiere this week, is made up of interviews with local residents in the Ramsey family’s neighbourhood in Boulder, Colorado, and a number of them speculate about the rumoured involvement of a paedophile killer.

“This is Boulder, that is what you have to deal with, but I thought there was some sort of sexual escapade that got out of hand”, one person speculates, according to The Sun.

“There was a lot of talk that there was a child porn ring going on in Boulder,” says another.

A third person muses that, “What you find is a lot of white collar crime, and possibly the child porn angle with everybody was just like ‘why isn’t this investigated?”

The claims are based on rumours that were circulating amongst locals at the time and are completely unfounded.

Ten years after her death, paedophile teacher John Mark Carr confessed to her murder, but that was later proved to be false.

Recent theories have suggested that the family were involved, and parents Patsy and John Ramsey were covering for JonBenét’s older brother Burke, who was nine at the time, but this is sheer, unsubstantiated speculation.

The Ramsey family were cleared of involvement by police in 2008 following DNA testing and no one has been charged with the little girl’s murder.

Her body was found bruised in the basement of her family home hours after her parents claimed to have found a two and a half-page long ransom note.

Casting JonBenét tells the story of her murder through the voices of real neighbours and local Colorado actors who are cast to re-enact the events that led up to the six-year-old's death.
