Melania 'never wanted' to be First Lady

She may be one of the most talked about women on the planet right now but it turns out Melania Trump never wanted to be First Lady.

According to an article which appeared in Vanity Fair this week, Melania was worried when Donald decided to go for the job of President of the United States, as she was scared what would happen if he won.

“She never wanted this and never had any interest (in being first lady),” a source told the publication.

Another source said Melania is happy to sit back now and let her husband do his work, which is why we rarely see her at public events.

“She doesn’t make waves,” the source said.

“She speaks only when spoken to. She’s just very sweet.”

However in response to the article, White House spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham told the Huffington Post that Donald and Melania’s 12-year marriage is stronger than ever.

“Mrs. Trump is a loving wife and mother who has always put her family first and that will not change," Stephanie said.

"She is an independent woman who believes in our country, and continues her plans to serve as First Lady with integrity and dedication."

She also addressed reports in the article that Melania was given a “contract” during her pregnancy with Baron which reportedly stated she would have to get her body back to how it was.

However Stephanie said Trump was “very warm and supportive” while Melania was pregnant and the whole thing is false.

The article comes 100 days after Trump took over office from Barack Obama.

Throughout the short term, Melania has kept her official engagements to a minimum, recently appearing at the annual White House Easter Egg Roll and just yesterday posing in front of the White House with Argentina’s President Mauricio Macri and his wife .
