Mum shares selfie of belly 'gutted like a shark'

For anyone who thinks that having a caesarean is the easy way out, think again.

Blogger and mum of two, Olivia White, has taken it upon herself to debunk some myths about having a c-section and posted a very real selfie just hours after birth.

“Who wouldn't take selfies hours post birth so they can see where they sliced you open and yanked out a whole person,” she wrote alongside the snap she shared on Instagram.

The House of White blogger wanted to reveal the harsh reality of having a c-section, which she compared to being “gutted like a shark”.

“That's then sewn back together with fishing wire while it feels like your vital organs are trying to escape! I mean sure, everything is fine until the spinal wears off,” she continues.

“After that it's like you've been hit by a bus, which then backed over you just to make sure it didn't miss you the first time.”

Despite the agonising pain that can follow when the drugs wear off, and the fear of having to wear “nana knickers” and “Spanx” for the rest of your life, Olivia says she wouldn’t change a thing.

“Because if it wasn't for the ability to deliver my babies this way they might not be here today.”

You go girl!
