What the Queen really thinks of The Crown

From the minute we pressed the play button on Netflix series The Crown, we’ve all wanted to know the answer to two questions.

Has the Queen watched it and does she love it as much as we do?

And now those questions have been answered because a royal source has claimed Her Majesty has indeed watched the series.

The show stars Claire Foy as a young Queen Elizabeth and documents the royal’s life from a little girl to becoming the Queen of England.

It also highlights her time as a mother to her four children, Charles, Anne, Andrew and Edward.

And while we were all glued to our screens, we weren’t sure what the Queen would make of the depiction of her marriage to Prince Philip or her relationship with her family and the government.

However it turns out that she’s just a big a fan as we are and even has viewing parties to watch the show.

“It has been a longstanding arrangement that they drive to Windsor at the weekend to join the Queen for an informal supper while watching TV or a film,” a source told the Daily Express.

“They have a Netflix account and urged her to watch it with them.

“Happily, she really liked it, although obviously there were some depictions of events that she found too heavily dramatised.”

Filming for season two of The Crown is currently underway and it’s believed it will be released in October or November of this year.
