Will and Kate's housekeeper quits 'demanding' $60k job

Her job may be the envy of thousands of royal family worshipers all over the world, but Prince William and Kate Middleton’s housekeeper has quit.

Sadie Rice is reported to have packed in her job with the royals after they asked her to move from their Anmer Hall residence in Norfolk to their new home in Kensington Palace.

The 35-year-old, who earned a reported $60,000, was their go-to gal for all their shopping, laundry and cleaning needs and even did some of the cooking for Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said Sadie packed it all in because the stress and pressure of the job was getting too much.

“Sadie’s a hard worker but the job’s demands got too much, even for her,” the source from Sandringham Estate told the publication.

“They wanted her to spend more time at Kensington Palace and her work was increasing all the time.

“She wasn’t having a normal life outside work. Sadie’s serving her notice and it seems nothing will change her mind. It’s their loss.”

The news will surely come as a blow to Will and Kate, who will relocate to Kensington Palace in July full-time.

They have already enrolled Prince George in a school and they are said to be building a massive two-storey extension fit for royalty.

According to a repot in the Daily Mail, Historic Royal Palaces, the charity that takes care of the apartments in the grounds of the palace, has put in an application to build an extension next to the orangery.

The massive 165ft-long extension, which is reported to be built underground, is said to be necessary to make room for the royal couple and their adorable two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Staff who are currently housed in the palace may be moved of their offices and into the three-storey building in the grounds of the palace.

The new building will also reportedly feature collection of dresses, which will be on display on the bottom level of the basement.

The red brick building behind the orangery is currently being used as a restaurant for visitors and it’s thought that will remain in place.
