Doctors shocked by enormous newborn

A US woman has given birth to a baby that weighs as much as a four-month-old!

Carleigh Brooke was delivered via C-section this week and hit the scales at a whopping six kilos - that’s almost double the average newborn weight of three and a half kilos.

Poor mum Christine Corbitt, already has two children who were born on the larger side of the scale, but says she wasn’t expecting this.

"It looked like they pulled a toddler out of my tummy," she exclaimed.

Even the doctor who delivered the baby girl was surprised, saying, “When the baby was coming out, I was like, is this baby ever going to end?”

“Everybody in the room kind of stopped in the delivery room and was like, ‘oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!’”

Young Carleigh is so big that she doesn’t fit regular size nappies and is already squeezing into a size three.

Her parents are glad she ended up arriving a couple of days ahead of schedule, otherwise she might have been even bigger still!
