Boy wearing floaties barely escapes drowning

They’re the safety device we rely on to help our little ones stay afloat. But a new viral video has shown just how quickly things can go wrong, even when your child has floaties on.

The clip shows a group of young children playing in a shallow paddling pool.

It only takes a few seconds before it’s clear something has gone very wrong when a young boy, sitting in an inflatable ring with a vest attached, tips forward.

The footage shows his legs thrashing as he struggles to right himself, with his face held in the water.

Luckily a young girl in the pool notices the boy in distress and performs the life-saving move of pulling him upright.

With the incident unfolding in a matter of moments, the heroic little girl’s quick thinking no doubt saves the young boy from serious injury.

We dread to think what would have happened if she didn’t.
