Woman shares hilarious selfie during sister’s labour

There’s something special about family - especially sisters.

Sometimes you love them, sometimes you hate them, but no matter what, you’re always there for each other.

Just like Kat Armendariz, from Texas, who stayed by her sister Kimberly Ramirezs side during labour because her Army husband wasn’t able to be there for the birth of their first child.

But it’s a hilarious selfie that she took, as her sister was writhing with labour pains in the background, that's gone viral around the world.

“When I had my first child, she always said to me ‘I'm never having kids nooo’, and now that it was her turn, I felt the need to capture that moment, it was priceless,” Kat tells Be.

“She didn’t mind at all, she said it helped keep her mind off of the labour pains and she thought it was funny, she gave me the "okay" after she had an epidural.”

A mum-of-five herself, Kat just couldn’t resist the urge to snap the pic, but it’s something that both sisters will cherish for the rest of their lives.

“Her husband's in the United States Army and he was unable to be there for the birth of their first child so it was my intention to capture every moment for them,” Kat tells us.

Kat shared the photo on Imgur with the caption 'SELFIE! While my sister is about to shove a baby out her vag!' and it’s since gone viral.

Despite receiving some criticism online, the majority thought Kat's selfie was 'hilarious'.

“This is the ultimate sibling photo. Going to show it to my sister!,” one person commented.

“Lmao best selfie I've seen in a while. Frame this and give it to her next Mother's Day,” said another.

“I think we all know who the KEWL aunt is gonna be!” someone wrote.

Kat says mum and bub are both doing well and are blown away with the attention the photo is getting.

“We're both shocked at the attention but we're very honoured to have our story shared,” Kat says.

Both sisters are crossing their fingers for a phone call from their favourite talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.

Good luck!
