Behaviour expert says Harry is still a 'grieving small boy'

He’s been vocal about the pain he felt when his mother, Princess Diana, passed away in 1997, and now a behaviour expert has said Prince Harry is still a “grieving small boy”.

The dashing Prince was just 12-years-old when Princess Diana lost her life in a car crash in Paris, and 20-years on, the Prince claims he has sought counseling to deal with his emotions.

Speaking to the Daily Star, body behaviour expert Judi James, said she believes the Prince is still just as raw about the tragedy as he was when he was a young boy.

“Harry’s responses when he speaks of his mother do sadly look a lot more intense and childlike as a result,” she said.

“Harry had no family roles apart from grieving small boy and he still hasn’t, meaning his responses might have changed less with time.”

In an upcoming ITV documentary set to air this month, Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William, sat down and spoke about their mother for the first time together on camera.

“This is the first time that the two of us have ever spoken about her as a mother,” Harry said.

“She was one of the naughtiest parents.

“She was our mum. She still is our mum. And of course, as a son I would say this, she was the best mum in the world.

“She smothered us with love, that’s for sure.”

In April this year Prince Harry opened up in an interview with the Telegraph about seeking counseling to deal with his mother’s death.

He said he had two years of “total chaos” after her death and “shut down all his emotions”.

At the age of 28 he said he sought professional help after feeling “on the verge of punching someone”.

“I can safely say that losing my mum at the age of 12, and therefore shutting down all of my emotions for the last 20 years, has had a quite serious effect on not only my personal life but my work as well,” he said.

“I have probably been very close to a complete breakdown on numerous occasions when all sorts of grief and sort of lies and misconceptions and everything are coming to you from every angle.”
