How many triangles can you see?

The question seems simple enough but has left many internet users scratching their head.

The new drawing, which was created by Kumar Ankit on quora.com, has been doing the rounds on social media, asking people to answer an apparently easy question.

The drawing has been shared thousands of time on Facebook and even though the sketch appears to be simple it definitely isn’t.

People have been left dumbfounded with answers ranging from 4 to 44.

So can you figure out the correct answer?

Well there are actually 25 triangles. There are 24 contained within the main triangle, as well as a sneaky one in the artist's signature.

Thankfully a mathematician has put together a helpful graph to show how you would get to that answer.

There are six in the top row - three individuals, two pairs, and one triangle made up of all three. Then there are six in second row, six in the third row and six in the fourth row using the same strategy.

Finally there’s the one in the signature, although some are pushing for a 26th, saying the word triangles could also count.
