People are turning IKEA rugs into Game of Thrones cloaks
Winter is here in Australia and if you’ve been dreaming of snuggling up in one of Jon Snow’s fluffy capes, then here’s your chance.
People were gobsmacked last week when it was revealed that the costume department actually use IKEA rugs to create the luxurious-looking cloaks worn by the King of the North and the gang.

And now IKEA are cashing in big time, after releasing special, detailed instructions on how to turn their rugs into epic capes.
People all over the world have taken on the challenge – which maps out step-by-step how to transform one of their sheepskin floor rugs into the best Sansa Stark Halloween costume you’ve ever seen.
First you’ll need to snip into the side of the rug with a scissors and create a round hole in the middle, big enough for your head to fit through.
Then you simply drape it around your shoulders, grab your nearest fake sword and be the commander of your very Winterfell.
IKEA posted an image to their Facebook page showing four of their workers decked out in some epic rug capes.
“’Night gathers, and now my watch begins…’ The loyal SKOLD rug – as worn by the IKEA Night’s Watch,” they wrote.
People then started to post images of their own designs in the comments section and they are making us want to leave work right now and dash to our nearest IKEA store.
