A Disney princess made a three-year-old girl’s dreams come true after waking her up from her fourth open-heart surgery.
Chanel Murrish, who is the youngest open-heart surgery patient ever in the UK, couldn’t believe it when she woke up to see Rapunzel sitting at her bedside.
Just before she was put to sleep, the adorable girl said her one wish was that she wanted Rapunzel to kiss her awake and read her a story for “being so brave”.
Thanks to Newcastle company Be Your Guest little Chanel’s wish was granted and the Tangled princess was right there with a book in hand when Chanel woke up.
“When we tried to explain to Chanel why she was coming into hospital, we asked her if afterwards she could have anything at all what would it be?” her parents wrote on her Facebook page, Chanel Murrish HLHS.
“She wanted Repunzel to come to hospital to give her a hug and read her a story for being brave.”
Chanel suffers with HLHS - Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome –made worse by the fact that she still has an intact atrial septum.
Her mother was told Chanel was unlikely to survive and just one minute after being born she endured her first open-heart surgery.
Little Chanel has since defied the odds and four surgeries later, has even learned how to walk, but she will possible need more operations and a heart transplant in the future.
