British model reveals incredible transformation after acid attack

British model Resham Khan and her cousin Jameel Muhktar both suffered a horrific acid attack back in June and now she has been brave enough to post her healing process online.

While the model was in London earlier this year to celebrate her 21st birthday, she was at a traffic light in a car with her cousin when a man came up to the pair and threw sulphuric acid through the open car window towards them.

Resham explained on Twitter what the ordeal felt like: “The pain was excruciating I was struggling to close the window. My cousin struggled to get us away. I saw my clothes burn away in front of me.”

Now two months after the acid attack, the 21-year-old has taken to Twitter to share some incredible transformation pictures of herself from her Eid celebrations.

Despite her incredible transformation during her healing process, the model did take to her blog a few days later to explain she still has a long way to go, and that makeup as well as lighting does wonders to photographs.

She thanked everyone for “the compliments and kind words” she received from people reacting to the photos she posted from the night of Eid, but she wanted to make it clear “that what you see on the internet isn’t real".

She wrote: “Don’t get me wrong, I have loved the compliments and it’s felt wonderful, but I should definitely set the story straight before someone sees me and starts to call me a catfish. I don’t want others to be trying to achieve what I do using editing apps".

In her blog post she admitted that she was “finally deciding to try on a full face of makeup” in the photos of her from her Eid celebrations.

The model did “a full face of makeup to the best of [her] ability”, covering up her scars and pink areas with an “extra layer or two of foundation”.

But Resham still did struggle applying makeup as she said “it hurts a little” especially with eye makeup.

She admitted that the photos posted to Twitter were “corrected” with a photoshop app.

“I’ve loved the compliments but the harsh reality is it is not real. It’s been lovely, it’s been great, but I can’t pretend to be someone I’m not,” she wrote.

Resham then bravely posted a selfie of herself makeup free and photoshop free, showing her face’s healing process and we think she looks gorgeous!

After going through an ordeal like that, you can’t really blame her for doing a little retouching here and there but we definitely don’t think she needs it.

Her blog documenting her entire journey also has an inspiring message: “It’s what’s under the skin that counts, right?”

We couldn’t agree more Resham. Hopefully her story is helping to inspire others who have unfortunately gone through similar troubles.
