How Prince George's first day at school was different to Prince William's

Prince George’s arrived yesterday with Prince William in tow to Thomas’s Battersea School in London - the place where he will spend the next seven years of his life.

The Duchess of Cambridge was nowhere to be seen, remaining at home thanks to a nasty bout of morning sickness brought on by her third pregnancy.

Comparisons between George and his father have already started, especially as the little prince’s nervous expression was the complete opposite of William’s on his first day of school.

In 1987, Prince William arrived at the door of Wetherby School in Notting Hill with his mother, the late Princess Diana.

He was spotted waving to the media and looking generally happy at the prospect of starting education.

William was also photographed leaving the school premises with a smile still on his face.

Prince Harry was also only too happy to begin school. The famous 1989 photo of the two royal boys and Princess Diana shows Harry beaming in his cute grey-and-red blazer and matching shorts and cap.
