Husband's devastating final call from 9/11 Flight 175

Moments before United Airlines Flight 175 slammed into the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, Brian Sweeney made a phone call to his wife from the back of the plane.

Seeing that the situation was unlilely to be resolved happily, the 38-year-old pilot and US Defense contractor wanted to make contact with the woman he loved most – but unfortunately, Julie Sweeney Roth missed the call.

Now Julie, who has since remarried, believes Brian only used his phone once he was certain he wouldn't make it.

“All I needed was that message, and I think he very selflessly left it," Julie said in a video published by the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.

"I don’t think he left it until he knew he wasn’t coming home.”
