Samuel Johnson 'nervous' before sister Connie’s funeral
Samuel Johnson has told followers of his Love Your Sister organisation that he's 'pretty nervous' ahead of his sister Connie Johnson's memorial in Melbourne today.
The 40-year-old mum of two boys lost her battle with breast cancer earlier this month.
Expecting a large turnout to honour his 'Connie Cottonsocks,' Logie-winning actor Sam posted an update to supporters on Instagram, showing the boxes of merchandise he plans to sell for his charity at a pop-up market beside St. Pauls Catherdral.
"My thanks not just to these awesome humans, but to everyone working so hard to make tomorrow possible," he wrote next to an image of supporters stocking a truck with massive boxes.
"I don’t think we’re gonna run out of merch, yeah? If you want to get Love Your Sister’d there will be a pop-up Market beside St. Pauls Cathedral. Come get stuff! Getting pretty nervous! Hope to see you there."
The ceremony will be held at 4.15pm, with Connie’s husband Mike and The Project host Carrie Bickmore – who also lost her husband to cancer – expected to speak.
Taking to Facebook last night, Sam said, “Our thanks to all the awesome humans working so hard to make Con's service tomorrow perfect.
“We're going way beyond the brother/sister thing and are going to introduce the Johnson clan to the Village, and the Village to the Johnson clan...what could possibly go wrong?”
Sam put his acting career on hold last year to be able to dedicate himself full-time to his and Connie’s charity, Love Your Sister.
They’ve since raised over $7 million for cancer research, and Sam has said he’s more determined that ever to step up his efforts.
Pop-up stalls selling Love Your Sister merchandise – including pairs of “Connie Cottonsocks” and “Sammy Seal” socks, referencing the pair's nicknames for each other – will be set up around the cathedral today.

Connie, who is survived by her husband and two sons, was remembered at a private service in Canberra on September 18.
