Princess Mary stuns in pink at royal dinner
After ten years as a member of the Danish royal family, Crown Princess Mary is no stranger to glamorous events.
And the mother-of-four really turned in up this week when she arrived at a commemorative dinner at Fredensborg Castle.
Dressed in a one-shouldered pink gown cinched in at the waist with a contrasting sash, the Australian would easily have looked at home at the most fabulous of Hollywood events.
While she didn’t arrive with her husband Prince Frederik, Mary was accompanied by her brother and sister-in-law Prince Joachim and Princess Marie.
It’s been rumoured that Princess Mary and Prince Frederik will soon become King and Queen of Denmark, with royal experts predicting that Frederik’s mother Queen Margrethe is planning to abdicate this year.
Speculation increased in August after the Queen’s husband Prince Henrik gave an explosive interview with Danish magazine Se og Hør, where he claimed the Queen had disrespected him by not giving him the title of 'king' as opposed to 'prince'.
“My wife has decided that she would like to be Queen, and I’m very pleased with that,” he told Se og Hør. “But as a person, she must know that if a man and a woman are married, then they are equal.”
“My wife hasn’t shown me the respect an ordinary wife should show her spouse.”
He has since been diagnosed with Dimentia, with the royal family saying in a statement, "Following a longer diagnostic process and lately a series of examinations during late summer, a specialist team ... has now concluded that his Royal Highness Prince Henrik suffers from dementia."
"The extent of the cognitive failure is ... greater than expected considering the age of The Prince."
