Guy accidentally kidnaps and drugs his neighbour’s cat
Talk about an awkward case of mistaken identity.
A man in New Zealand has inadvertently become a cat-napper after he confused his neighbour’s black cat for his own.
But that’s not even half the story.
Twitter user Clarke, who’s mate made the furry mistake, kindly documented the whole debacle online so that everyone may share in the laugh.

Basically, his mate had noticed that ‘his’ cat wasn’t acting normal and took it to the vet. He was proscribed some anti-anxiety medication and told to lock the cat into a room for five days.
Much to his surprise though, on day five his ACTUAL cat casually strolled into the house and he realised his mistake. That he had kidnapped and drugged a cat that wasn’t his.

He just told me a neighbour had come looking for her missing black cat and he said 'Na, sorry just my cat in here!'

Surely you would notice straight away if you weren’t not dealing with your own pet. According to Clarke, these two cats weren’t even the same gender.
wait, hang on, it turns out rando cat is a boy and his is a girl, HOW DID THE VET NOT NOTICE THIS??

Despite the mishap though, it appears the cat was returned to its rightful owner without any drama and was now happily ‘chilling’ back at home.
