Samuel Johnson opens up about life after Connie

After candidly revealing he was “mostly too numb to feel much” as he lost sense of time and his appetite following the tragic death of his beloved sister, Samuel Johnson has posted positive messages about how he’s coping in the wake of Connie’s passing.

Founder of the Love Your Sister cancer charity and mum-of-two Connie passed away at the age of 40 last month, following a lengthy battle with breast cancer.

Aussie actor Samuel was a constant presence by her side and continued to fiercely campaign for awareness in the heartbreaking days leading up to Connie’s death.

Now, Samuel has revealed he’s making an effort to take care of himself following the grueling days he and the small Love Your Sister team worked to organise Connie’s memorial services and fundraise.

After penning a piece for Mamamia explaining how they worked 14 consecutive days after Connie’s death, Samuel yesterday shared a Facebook post on how he’d turned a corner after neglecting his health.

“Figured it would be good for me to take a walk after Con's death, seeing as it has been mostly barstools lately,” he wrote. “Need to shake it off, ya know!"

Going on to explain he’d signed up for a 10km fundraising walk for Love Your Sister, Samuel appears to be making a concentrated effort to make time for himself.

A few weeks after Connie’s death in September, Samuel informed the Love Your Sister ‘villagers’ he was taking time off for the first time in seven years.

“First week off since Con got diagnosed,” he revealed

“Off to the river to try and rediscover what feelings feel like. Have instructed the team to take the week, but they've not been convincing. I'm out though. No phone, no nuthin.”
