Pregnant Kate shows no sign of slowing down royal duties

Kate Middleton is set to embark on a royal tour in early 2018 – despite the fact she will be six or seven months along in her pregnancy.

Kensington Palace announced on Instagram that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are set to touch down in Norway and Sweden at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in early 2018.

Considering the 35-year-old is currently three months gone in her pregnancy with her third child, the news has met with some confusion online.

“I wouldn't think the Duchesswould go in the icy depths of winter when she will be heavily pregnant?” one person wrote.

“These guys just keep on working,” another person said.

Others questioned whether or not the Duchess would even be allowed to fly if she is so far along.

According to the Flight Centre website, pregnant women are good to travel up to 28 weeks.

“It's from the 28-week mark that the airlines start to enforce certain rules,” the website states.

“Importantly, you'll need to carry a medical certificate on you from 28 weeks.”

However, it also states that certain airlines will allow women to fly on short flights up to 40 weeks.

The news of the royal tour in 2018 comes as the Duchess has been seen stepping up her official engagement since she was struck down with severe morning sickness.

She was pictured looking radiant in a blue lace dress on October 10th at a Buckingham Palace reception to celebrate World Mental Health Day.

The Duchess was also pictured this week at a Charities Forum Event at Paddington Station.

And things don’t appear to be slowing down for the pregnant royal, who has a jam-packed schedule for the rest of the year.

In November, the Duchess is expected to attend the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall and she will no doubt join the royal family at the Cenotaph in Whitehall for the service of Remembrance.

The Duchess is also lined up to attend the BAFTA awards in London in February with her husband where Prince William will present the lifetime achievement award.
