Meghan Markle's bankrupt dad hiding out in Mexico

Meghan Markle may live the life of a Hollywood star, but according to reports, her father is hiding out in Mexico.

The Suits star’s 73-year-old father, Thomas Markle Sr., filed for bankruptcy in the US recently and while his daughter has been making headlines all over the world, he’s been keeping quite in the little town of Sayulita.

However, now that things between Meghan and Harry are heating up, it’s thought the actress is desperate for her father to come home so she can have the wedding of her dreams.

“She wants him there to walk her down the aisle to her prince,” a family friend told New Idea.

“But he hates the spotlight and wants to keep his financial problems out of the press.”

The source also revealed that Thomas Markle thinks the royal family would “look down on him at the wedding” and would prefer to “spare his daughter the stress”.

Indeed, Meghan and her father appear to have a great relationship, with the 36-year-old taking to her Instagram on Father’s Day last year to gush about him.

“I'm still your buckaroo, and to this day your hugs are still the very best in the whole wide world,” she wrote.

“Thanks for my work ethic, my love of Busby Berkeley films & club sandwiches, for teaching me the importance of handwritten thank you notes, and for giving me that signature Markle nose. I love you xo –Bean.”

She’s also extremely close with her mother, Doria, a yoga teacher who lives in LA.

In fact, she’s so close with her mother that it was previously reported Prince Harry is looking to move her into Buckingham Palace so she can be close to her daughter.
