Did Donald Trump write this letter about himself?

An interesting reader letter sent to the New York Magazine in the 90s has resurfaced online – and the writer sounds eerily like Donald Trump.

Supposedly sent in to the magazine in December 1992 by Carolin Gallego, the letter has people asking whether it was in fact written by Donald himself.

It was posted to Reddit under the head ‘Looks like Donald Trump wrote to New York Magazine in 1992’ and given his reputation and past comments about women, the speculation is rife.

“Based on the fact that I work for Donald Trump as his secretary – and therefore know him well – I think he treats women with great respect,” the words on the newspaper clipping read.

“I do not believe any man in America gets more calls from women wanting to see him, meet him, or go out with him. The most beautiful women, the most successful women – all women love Donald Trump.”

The interwebs are having a field day with the note, with many pointing out how similar it is to the way the President talks.

And given the note was written by his secretary – yes Carolin Gallego was in fact Executive Secretary to Donald J. Trump The Trump Organisation from December 1991 to October 1993 – it seems very likely.

“Given that's his secretary, technically she probably wrote it after he dictated it,” one person pointed out.

“There's no way he didn't write this himself. The word choice is a total giveaway - that hyperbolic ‘I do not believe any man...’ ‘All women love Donald Trump’ - that's precisely how he'd phrase those ideas,” another noticed.

The jokes flowed quick and fast and the thread has already received over 300 comments.

“If you squint your eyes, you can see the orange in her toupee shining between the lines,” one person wrote.
