Camilla finds royal life 'tiring' and 'needs to slow down'
Camilla may be traveling the world, staying in lavish hotels and have staff waiting on her on hand and foot – but she’s claimed she’s ‘tired’.
The 70-year-old is currently on an 11-day tour of south-east Asia and India with Prince Charles.
In a conversation with Queen Saleha, who is married to the Sultan of Brunei, Camilla said was exhausted after their whirlwind trip.
“Very tiring,” Camilla said, according to The Express, when Queen Saleha asked if it was tiring.
“Every day, we’re non-stop.
“It’s more tiring as you get older.
“I keep trying to tell everybody that I’m not as young as I used to be, and have to slow down.”
Camilla and Charles’ trip comes as they step up their royal duties in the wake of Prince Philip’s retirement.
The Queen obviously can’t take on every trip on her own and with Kate Middleton pregnant and Prince Harry in Chicago for the Obama Summit, Camilla and Charles have been forced to take on bigger roles.
Camilla is perhaps also trying to prove to Kate that she Prince Charles is more than able to take on the roles of King, after it was reported Kate is pushing for William to take over from his grandmother.
“Camilla is livid that William could potentially take the throne – and she’s pointing the finger of blame firmly on poor Kate,” New Idea reports.
