Grandad gets $1 million Wheel of Fortune question wrong

It’s every game show contestant’s biggest nightmare but a grandad has incorrectly answered a $1 million question of the Wheel of Fortune.

The heartbreaking moment was aired on ABC on Wednesday night and showed Frank appearing on the show with his granddaughter, Laurel.

When the time came for Frank to answer the jackpot question, he decided to pick the Food and Drink category.

However, things ended up in disaster when the grandad and granddaughter team got it wrong.

His granddaughter thought the answer to the first jumbled up word scrabble was ‘fried’, while Frank answered ‘zucchini’ for the second word scramble.

The duo looked pretty confident with their answer and couldn’t believe it when presenter Pat Sajak awkwardly told them that not only had they answered incorrectly, but it was actually a $1 million question.

The answer was actually 'Baked Zucchini'.

Frank wasn’t left empty-handed though and he still walked away with a nice $26,000 in his back pocket.
