Expert reveals Meghan Markle's new royal title

The Queen's former press secretary has revealed his expert view on what Meghan Markle's title will be after she and Prince Harry are married.

And sorry, Disney fans, she most likely won't be a princess.

In fact, Dickie initially stumbled over his words, claiming Meghan could even end up a Prince.

"It's a bit of a mouthful, because if he doesn't get a title, she will be Prince Henry of Wales – Princess Henry of Wales," Dickie told UK media.

"And that is a mouthful."

Instead, Dickie revealed, he thought Meghan would most likely follow in the footsteps of Kate Middleton, and become a Duchess.

"The likelihood is that you'll get a Dukedom," Dickie said, "and Meghan will be known as that."

Prince Harry says Meghan and Diana would have been 'best friends'

Meghan may well end up being Her Royal Highness, though.

"It's in the Queen's gift as to whether Meghan is called Her Royal Highness," Dickie explained.

"The likelihood is that she will be."

And he doesn't think her previous marital status will come into it at all.

"The fact that she's divorced is neither here nor there in today's society," Dickie, 77, said.

"The church cleared the way for that in the early 'noughties... going back to Windsor Chapel, it is one of the Queen's churches and therefore it is not a problem."
