Donald Trump's TV and Diet Coke obsession revealed

There’s already been concerns raised over Donald Trump’s love for fast food, but now it’s been claimed the President of the United States has an unhealthy hobby as well.

According to an article which appeared in the New York Times, the 71-year-old watches up to nine hours of TV a day, despite previously stating he doesn’t have time to sit in front of the screen.

The article, which claims to be compiled from a number of insider revelations, also reveals that Trump guzzles a whopping 12 cans of Diet Coke a day.

“People close to him estimate that Mr. Trump spends at least four hours a day, and sometimes as much as twice that, in front of a television, sometimes with the volume muted, marinating in the no-holds-barred wars of cable news and eager to fire back,” the article reads.

It also goes on to say that the President “summons” staff to his office to bring him whatever her wants, like lunch and his beloved Diet Cokes.

He famously tweeted that he’s “never seen a thin person drinking Diet Coke” but Trump is said to have a big red button in his office from where he orders the cool drink.

The button is said to sit on a wooden box atop the Oval Office Resolute Desk and while the box was also there during Barack Obama’s reign as president, it’s not known whether or not he used the bell for that purpose.

In September, the Chicago Tribune claimed Trump eats “like a teenage boy”, indulging in fast food – he celebrated with a Big Mac and fries after he won the Republican presidential nomination - and knocking back cans of Diet Coke.

By all accounts, he’s not a huge fan of breakfast, but if he does eat it, it’s cornflakes, or a plate of bacon and eggs.

The New York Times article also claims that the President doesn’t get to work until about 9:30am some days.
