Meghan Markle's engagement 'spelt the end' of her Bond girl dream
She’s given up a lot to settle down with Prince Harry, including her home and her career, but it’s now been revealed Meghan Markle missed out on the movie role of a lifetime because of her relationship.
According to The Sun, the 36-year-old former Suits actress was in the running to become the next Bond girl in the James Bond franchise, before her engagement to Prince Harry was revealed.
“The role more recently has gone to actresses deemed to be rising stars, and Meghan certainly was seen as that before her relationship with Harry became public,” a source told the publication.
“The brief was to find a glamorous rising star, specifically someone American or Canadian.
“Her engagement effectively spelt an end to her acting career so that was the final blow.”
It comes after Meghan gave up her role as Rachel Zane on hit show Suits so she become a member of the royal family.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to marry in a lavish ceremony at Windsor Castle on May 19th next year.
Just this week, Meghan was seen holding hands with Harry as she made her way out of church at Sandringham.
The stunner was flanked by Kate Middleton and Prince William, along with the rest of the royal family memebers.
Speaking about her day with her new family, Prince Harry said she had a ball and claimed the royals are like the “family she never had”.
