Meghan Markle's sister slams reports mum will walk her down the aisle
Meghan Markle has always played by her rules when it comes to her romance with Prince Harry, and it seems she’s not going to stop when it comes to their May 2018 wedding ceremony.
While it’s tradition for the father of the bride to walk her down the aisle, reports claim the former Suits star is determined to have her mother Doria Ragland give her away at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
“[She’s hoping] to break a tradition or two,” an insider told E! News.
Meghan is notoriously close to her mum with the pair often spotted together, while she’s rarely sighted with her dad Thomas.
But the reports haven’t gone down well with other members of Meghan's family.
Meghan’s half-sister Samantha Grant has already blasted the decision, claiming their dad will be the one accompanying the star on her big day.
“Muck about Doria walking Meg down the aisle, is NOT true,” Samantha tweeted.
“Our father will walk her down the aisle.”
It’s not the first time Meghan’s happy romance with Prince Harry has gotten her family offside.
With Meghan spending Christmas Day with her future-in-laws and Prince Harry proudly telling the world “It’s like the family I suppose she never had”, Samantha and her brother Thomas were quick to hit back.
“[Our dad] dedicated the majority of all his time and everything to her,” Thomas told the Daily Mail.
“He made sure she had what she needed to be successful and get to where she's at today.”
Taking to her Twitter account, Samantha vented her frustrations at what the Prince had said, claiming Meghan has a large family who were “always there with her and for her”.
“Our household was very normal and when dad and Doria divorced, we all made it so it was like she had two houses,” she wrote.
“No one was estranged, she was just too busy."
