Prince William takes after Diana by donning hospital scrubs

Princess Diana was known for her kind nature while visiting the sick and her inquisitive nature and it appears her son, Prince William has taken after his late mother.

The 35-year-old Duke of Cambridge donned scrubs to watch a live operation at Royal Marsden hospital to learn all about pioneering robotic surgery.

His visit comes 17 years after his late mother made headlines all over the world when she sat in on a heart operation for a small boy from Cameroon.

The Prince watched a breast reconstruction surgery being performed with the machines and observed the removal of cancerous tumours from a patient’s bladder and tongue at the hospital.

He has been the President of Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust since 2007 and was impressed with how the surgeons were able to carry out the surgery using two handheld controls and a monitor.

The Duke of Cambridge joked as he compared the practice to that of playing on a PlayStation.

“It’s the same as the PlayStation gear,” he said, joking with the surgeons.

“You can see all the doctors have done Playstation. They let me watch but not to have a go.”

Princess Diana was also the the President of Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust until she passed away in 1997.

Prince William also spent time at the hospital talking to patients and meeting with staff members.
