Violent brawl breaks out in Melbourne fruit shop

It’s cherry season and it seems competition for the best fruit is fierce in Melbourne.

An ambulance had to be called to afruit shop in the suburb of Springvale after an all-out brawl broke out among three men there on Friday afternoon.

Video of the moment, which you can watch above, sees shoppers desperately trying to keep the men apart while ducking out of the way of the blows.

One man appears to have lost his shirt, and he and another man are seen picking up random items around them and using them as weapons to attack each other in the shocking footage.

A store worker involved in the brawl was taken to hospital and treated for serious head injuries and is said to now be recovering at home.

According to the fruit shop owner, it all kicked off over the fact they only sold cherries by the kilo.
