Teen nails epic basketball trick shot, goes viral

James Meiergerd, who has Down Syndrome, has gone viral for performing the most epic basketball trick shot ever that has since attracted the attention of the Harlem Globetrotters.

The senior at West Point-Beemer High School in Nebraska had been practicing the shot for weeks when he spontaneously decided to try it out on the court during the halftime break of the school's Friday game.

James, 18, walked onto the court with his friend and while it took him a few tries, when he sunk the backward half-court basket the crowd erupted.

He hugged his friend, pumped his arm into the air and ran to the student section, where he was embraced by classmates.

The video of the shot has since gone viral his mum Karen then sharing it with the Harlem Globetrotters.
