Woman films Bali hotel worker propositioning her for sex

A Melbourne tourist has shared an alarming video of herself being propositioned for sex by a hotel worker in Bali.

Aneta Baker, 28, started secretly recording after an employee at the hotel she was staying at told her that she could only get refund for a booking mistake if she performed a sex act on him.

In a lengthy Facebook post shared to warn others, Aneta says the man waited until her two female friends left to ask her for a ‘blow job’.

“I was shocked at this person who was in a position of authority in the hotel I stayed at, who waited till I was alone, then proposed he would give me the refund ‘but what would I give him’,” she writes.

“I can guarantee you that I was not the first person he has done this too... His confidence was disturbing, for it makes me know that there have been countless others that have gone through this too!”

In the video, she can be heard saying, “so you want me to give you… what?” to which he replies, “a blow job”.

They proceed to have a lengthy conversation in which he says it would be difficult for him to process a refund, so instead, he would pay the money she’s owed out of his own pocket if she will perform a sex act on him.

Aneta clearly and repeatedly declines, and stresses how inappropriate and unprofessional he is being, but the conversation continues until she asks to speak to his manager.

At that point, he says he can get her a refund if she agrees not to tell his manager about his proposition.

“I spoke to someone above him who didn't do anything about it, and then I pressed and pressed to speak to the highest person in charge, not giving up even though being mucked around for almost an hour,” she wrote on Facebook.

“This is not a reflection of the hotel I stayed at, I had a great time so am not here to name and shame the hotel. This is purely the individual and the individuals of staff members who knew exactly what this guy was doing yet did nothing to stop him or did nothing to assist me in laying a complaint and bringing it to a higher authority’s attention!”

She was eventually able to speak to the general guest services manager and another senior boss who were both incredibly apologetic and assured her the employee would be fired.

Aneta, who is married and was in Bali on a girls’ trip, chose to share her experience on Facebook to warn other women, particularly young women, to “be aware that there are some people out there, even people within a respectable role that can use their authority wrong”.
