Couple’s bizarre swimsuit wedding on live TV

A couple have stripped down to their swimwear to tie the knot in a bizarre wedding ceremony on live TV.

Jessica Shears and Dominic Lever, from UK’s Love Island, became the first pair from the show to get married, and did so live on Good Morning Britain.

In a nod to how they met the pair wore nothing but their swimmers for the occasion, with Jess in a white bikini, heels and a veil – found by a staff member – and Dom wearing white boardies and a black bow tie.

And of course, the whole spectacle unfolded on Valentine’s Day – at 8:30 in the morning –because why not?

Jess, 23, and Dom, 26, got engaged in London last September after meeting on the reality show Love Island. Despite their relationship being rocked by a ‘cheating’ scandal it seems they are going strong.

For those of you completely horrified, don’t worry, they are not officially Mr and Mrs just yet as a source told The Sun Online that the ITV studio “isn’t sanctioned for a wedding ceremony, so it’s technically not legally binding”.

Fellow reality stars and viewers took to Twitter to share their dismay at the ‘tacky wedding’.

“Jess and Dom getting married on GMB today is THE most tragic thing I have ever seen,” Maisie Grace Gillespie wrote on Twitter.

“Noooooo,” was all Ex On The Beach's Sam Reece could manage.

Jess did defend the wedding as “just a bit of fun”.

“So many people getting their knickers in a twist this morning about mine and @_DomLever Valentines Wedding on GMB. We had such a laugh and can’t wait for the REAL wedding now in October #learntotakeajokekids," Jess posted.

It’s been reported the pair will be having that wedding in Mykonos later this year.
