Woman takes ghost husband on double dates

A woman who ditched real men and married a 300-year-old pirate ghost named Jack has now revealed she goes on double dates with her friend and another ghost.

Amanda Teague made headlines last month when she revealed she had decided to marry a ghost, sharing images of the wedding ceremony with the public.

Now the 45-year-old has opened up about how the couple spent their Valentine’s Day, revealing she actually books a table for four.

During an appearance on UK show Loose Women, Amanda was asked how the date works and she said they need four seats for their double date because her best friend is also dating a ghost – who happens to be her husband’s best friend.

“We do go on dates and I also have a friend who is in a relationship with Jack's best friend, so we often go on double dates,” she told guest panellist Kem Cetinay.

“And yes, we do leave a seat for them to sit on. We'll buy them a drink - Jack likes rum and Matthew likes beer - and we set them down for them as a form of respect."

Amanda revealed in January that she she couldn’t connect with anyone in the physical world, so looked to the afterlife to find her kindred spirit.

Like any normal couple, Amanda and her husband Jack Teague go on dates, have arguments and even have ghost sex - despite the fact he died almost 300 years ago.

“He is my soulmate. I am so happy, it is the perfect kind of relationship for me,” Amanda said at the time.

Amanda’s love affair with the spirit started in 2014 when she was lying in bed one night and could feel his energy lying beside her.

She says she initially wasn’t that interested in making contact with the spirit, until she realised she could speak to him through mediumship.

“We became really close, the more I learnt about him, the more I liked him,” Amanda, from Northern Ireland, said.

“One day he said to me ‘We can actually be together you know’ but I had never heard of an intimate relationship between a spirit and a human before.”

While Amanda was married before and has five-children with her ex-husband, she says she’s never been able to relate to anyone alive the way she connects to Jack.

According to Amanda in his past life her husband was a Haitian pirate who lived in the 1700s. He was eventually caught and suffered a traumatic death - being executed for being a thief on the high seas.

Two years after they first met, the couple got engaged.

Amanda hired a registrar and journeyed into international waters in the Atlantic Ocean, off the Irish Coast so she could legally marry him - using a spiritual medium to allow him to say ‘I do’ during the ceremony.
