Mum sent to prison for christening her child

A mum-of-two has been sent to prison after she christened her baby against the father’s wishes.

Kendra Stocks, 36, has walked into jail for the start of her one-week sentence after she took her little girl to be baptised back in 2016.

She and the baby’s dad Paul Schaaf had been embroiled in a lengthy custody battle that resulted in a third person being given the final decision-making authority on all legal custody decisions - including decisions concerning religion.

However, it’s been reported that Kendra ignored this and baptised her two-year-old daughter the day after the decision.

Her ex Paul was said to have found out on Facebook after pictures were posted of the ceremony.

As a result of the breach, Kendra was was charged with contempt of court and is now spending a week locked up in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“It’s just very sad. It’s all a very sad situation,” Kendra said while speaking outside of the jail.

“I’ll get through this and hopefully come out a better person.”
