Teacher shares incredible note from 10-year-old student

A 10-year-old boy’s letter to his teacher has warmed the hearts of thousands of people on the internet.

Teacher, Shannon Franks Dinges, took to her Facebook to share the inspiring note she found on her desk when she walked into work on Tuesday morning.

“My mom told me why we have no school on Friday and Thursday,” the boy wrote, alongside a folded $5 note.

He was referring to the two-day teacher strike which is currently in its second day in West Virginia.

The educators have staged a walkout in the hope of improving teaching conditions and fighting for better health insurance and wages.

“I had to fight back tears as I called the student to my desk and graciously thanked him for his generosity and kindness (and tried to return his money),” Shannon wrote on Facebook.

“He just wanted to help…..and just like that I am reminded (in the midst of all the turmoil in our education system right now) why I go to school every day, why I love my job,” she continued.

Shannon went on to ask how a 10-year-old can be more compassionate to a teacher’s needs than ‘elected leaders’.

While the boy refused to take the money back from his teacher, she sent a thank you note to him with the cash inside.

Over 5,000 people have already liked the post with many people claiming it made them cry.

“Kids see and know more than their big hearts should have to!! A child raised right,” one person said.

“Oh my goodness this ripped my heart out! Someone is raising a good boy. And thank you teacher for showing us this boys love and yours in such negative times,” another person said.
