'Blood Witch' inspires online movement
The self-described “blood witch” who ignited social media by giving herself a menstrual facial has painted the world red by inspiring an online movement. Australian Yazmina Jade, 26, collected the blood from her time of the month and smeared it on to her face in a “sacred ritual” that made waves across the planet. Now, the Gold Coast feminine healer has encouraged women from as far afield as Asia, America and Europe to stop hiding their menstrual cycle and follow her lead. The former hair-dresser said felt a “blood bond” with the women who performed the ritual – and she plans to hold a gathering to uncloak the shame that hangs over periods.
