Research says people with this personality trait have the most sex

Forget working on the ultimate beach bod or dropping your swiping standards on Tinder, new research has revealed that being nice is the key to having more sex.

That’s right, nice peeps finish first when it comes to getting some action in the bedroom.

The study, released by The British Journal of Psychology, saw a research team led by Nipissing University conduct a series of experiments to see what kind of people had the most success in the sack.

In one experiment, 192 women and 105 men were assessed on their altruism, or the good things they did, such as donating blood and helping out neighbours.

When it came to their sex life, those who helped out were more likely to have more sex overall. And in the case of men, nice guys were more likely to have more casual partners, too.

“This study is the first to show that altruism may translate into real mating success in Western populations, that altruists have more mates than non-altruists,” said University of Guelph Professor Pat Barclay, who worked on the study.

According to science, this is a throwback to our hunter-gatherer days. It makes sense: having a partner who comes back with food is a much more attractive quality than one who disappears into the wilderness.

So there you have it. If you’re experiencing a bit of a dry spell, it might be an idea to ditch Tinder and start doing some charity work instead…
