In fact, all the nannas out there who love being comfy during their sexy time can rejoice because science says socks help heat things up in the bedroom.

Despite once being a banishable bedroom offence, keeping your socks on while sexing can increase your chances of orgasm, according to researchers at the University of Groningen.

The study found that 80 percent of couples reached orgasm while wearing socks, while only 50 percent managed to get there without socks on.

The science behind it says wearing socks helps dilate the blood vessels in your feet which can improve blood flow.

It’s also believed that having socks on can help people feel warm and cosy, which sees them more relaxed.

While good news for some, this is bad for all those who find men or women in just socks offensive – like these Redditors:
