Hot new trend for ‘half-night stands’

In the latest trend for those indulging in hot hookups, the half night stand is here to make sure you enjoy your night time encounter – but don't miss out on a good night's sleep in the process.

The idea is simple. You meet your lust buddy, head back to their house so you can get to know each other better, and then scoot back to the comfort of your own bed when you’ve had enough.

No more awkward tossing and turning as you try to fall asleep, fumbling in the dark to go to the bathroom, or making awkward small talk with your Uber driver the morning after when you both know exactly what you've been up to.

“If you don’t want anything more than sex, what’s the point of staying overnight with a stranger?” sex therapist Celeste Hirschman told the Huffington Post. “It’s just easier to go home so you can sleep in your own comfortable bed, wake up and start your day fresh.”

This actually makes a lot of sense when you think about it.

We're all busy people, and thanks to being spoilt for choice with dating apps that see us swipe one minute and meeting up the next, there's no limit to our love lives these days.

Plus, we all know the importance of a good night's sleep no matter what, right?
