Pippa’s new brother-in-law is a reality TV love rat

It’s gearing up to be the social event of the year when Pippa Middleton says ‘I do’ to James Matthews this weekend. With Prince George acting as page boy, Princess Charlotte as flower girl and Pippa’s sister, the Duchess of Cambridge watching on, the wedding is set to make headlines around the world.

But while Pippa’s bridal party is bursting with royal connections, James’ couldn’t be any more the opposite, with his best man his younger brother and notorious playboy, Spencer.

Already making waves before the ceremony when it was revealed his girlfriend Vogue Williams, the former wife of Westlife star Brian McFadden, was reportedly banned from the wedding so as not to steal the spotlight, Spencer has a less-than-stellar public profile.

“Pippa’s view is that Vogue’s relationship with Spencer is still very new. It wouldn’t be appropriate for her to be there after just a few months of dating,” a source told The Sun.

“But some people in the circle are pretty shocked because this is her future brother-in-law who’s going to end up attending on his own. It’s certainly raised eyebrows.”

Estimated to be worth around $5 million, Spencer, 27, is better known in the UK for his extensive stint on reality shows, first propelling himself to fame as a cheating love rat on Made in Chelsea in 2011.

The next year, he starred in The Bachelor but his love affair with winner Khloe Evans was short-lived when he was snapped hanging out with his ex-girlfriend Louise Thompson.

“We spent ten weeks together but I was also dating 23 other girls,” he told the Mirror of his relationship with Khloe.

In 2015, Spencer jetted into the jungle for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here, but only lasted two days before he left for ‘medical reasons’ – later admitting he was busted with steroid pills, and was asked to leave the show.

Two years later, Spencer was back on screens again, this time for UK reality show The Jump, which sees celebs trying to master winter sports such as bobsleigh and ski cross.

Not only did he take out the crown, he also began dating fellow contestant Vogue – who won’t be in attendance at Pippa’s this weekend.

With his history of playing up, no doubt Spencer's role in the wedding is sure to spice things up.

We wonder just how far he’ll go with his best man speech?
