Mel Greig: 10 tell tale signs your partner is cheating

This week in lessons I’d like to share with everyone is: the top 10 signs your partner might be cheating.

Of course there might be simple explanations for some of them, but if you notice a pattern or if your partner ticks half the list umm, CUT AND RUN. RUN, GURL RUN.

For me the hardest thing about being with someone who turned out to be unfaithful is that I saw the signs and asked him about it but he denied, denied, denied - and made me feel like the guilty one #hewasgutless.

He even used the line “If you keep thinking I’m doing it, I will just go and do it” #whatacatch.

Often they won’t admit to it. Why they just can’t end it is something that I still don’t understand. Is it the thrill? Is it the complete lack of morals, respect and regard for us?

You need to know if someone is unfaithful, that is a reflection of THEM not YOU. Yes, there might be underlying issues and the relationship would have come to an end regardless, but suffering through the betrayal of cheating is so hard.

The lying hurts the most. Cheaters, please be honest and just end it before taking that next step with someone because you are causing a world of hurt and it makes someone feel like the years of love meant nothing to you.

10 signs your partner could be cheating

  • If you are convinced he is cheating, look through his social media likes for a pattern and if he has repeat likers. This is not crazy person behaviour, they won’t admit it to you so you need to go detective on their ass for evidence. This is how I found two of my ex’s flings after I found out about the affairs. #notcrazy #stilldateme

  • He flips his phone over when he’s around you so you can’t see who his text messages are from when they come through. But if he’s really clever, he’ll save his hussies under boy names.

  • He spends a lot of time on Instagram but he doesn’t post anything or like any pictures. His direct messages are likely to be full of all the bad things.

  • He doesn’t agree to an open phone policy and would never allow for you to know his passcode.

  • He is slotting in extra gym sessions out of nowhere and they go for at least two hours. The trick here is to ask to go with him and see how he reacts.

  • He comes home at 9am and says he has been partying that whole time. High chance he has picked up at 5am and done the deed.

  • He has started adding new random female friends on Facebook. I remember asking about a blonde girl and was met with ‘That was for my friend, he wanted me to check out her page’. It turns out she was one of the girls he was unfaithful with.

  • He wants to have a ‘boys’ night every second weekend, and here’s the kicker, insists on staying at their place ‘so he doesn’t wake you up’ #hesballsdeep

  • He refuses to put ‘In a Relationship’ on his Facebook page or to be tagged in anything mooshy.

  • He starts treating you like shit because he feels so guilty he needs to hate you to feel better, to make it your fault and to justify his actions.

My advice? Follow your gut and never let someone treat you with such disrespect or to make you feel worthless, you know if something isn’t right, it’s just hard to take that next step BUT you deserve true love and happiness and nothing less.
