Husband caught out by wrong number text

A husband has been caught out after sending a text intended for another woman to his wife.

The wife in question took to the Mumsnet forum to explain her predicament.

“Dear husband is abroad on business. He texted me to say he’d got there ok and would ring me in the morning,” she says.

“At 12.15am a text came through saying ‘213 if you fancy a chat’ – (it’s also an hour ahead there so that was 1.15am)”.

Pretty suspicious behaviour, hey…. But what’s worse is that the wife replied asking who he was inviting to his room, and he read it, but was silent for the rest of the night.

The following morning he called and in an awkward conversation apologised saying, “he knows it looks bad and he could have worded it better”.

His explanation, the wife says, is that he was inviting a new female staff member who wanted to make changes to her presentation for the following morning.

“He says they had a few drinks and in the lift she said text me your room number. He text it to me instead. Why wouldn’t he just tell her his room number?” she asks.

Turns out she wasn’t the only one suspecting he may be up to no good, with fellow mumsnet users fearing that he’s being unfaithful.

“I tend to think that if you are worried, there’s probably something to worry about,” one person says, while another writes, “Not looking good, and his explanation makes it worse.”
