Woman asks Twitter for date to a wedding, finds fiancé
When Madison O'Neill found herself flying solo the day before a friend’s wedding back in 2015, she did what every social media savvy singleton would do – she put a shout out on Twitter to find herself a date.
“So hmu (hit me up) if you wanna be my date to a wedding tomorrow,” the blonde put out into the Twitterverse.
While the Iowa local didn’t exactly get an overwhelming response (one retweet and two likes to be exact), she did get a direct message from a man named Chuck Dohrmann.
Eloquently writing, “Dude I’ll be your date to a wedding. When is it?”, so began an unlikely love story that last week saw Chuck dropping a knee and proposing.
In a heartwarming tale that proves you really can find love anywhere, Maddie shared the couple’s story in a tweet that’s been liked nearly 500,000 times.
Full disclosure: Madison and Chuck did know each other before her replied to her tweet, but only from going to the same school.
we went to the same high school but he was a grade older and I always thought he was obnoxious😂 but we didn't actually know each other

Now six years after they graduated, Madison admits she never thought one innocent little tweet could change her life forever.
“Never in a million years would I have thought that I would fall in love with that annoying sophomore in my freshman french class,” she wrote on Instagram.
